I think it is more useful to build on existing standards and investigate whether they can be used for the standardization of an Open Metaverse Protocol. For example, for the identity it would be better to refer to EIDAS 2.0 (I live in EU) and other standard. There are also other needs that need to be investigated. For example the use of 3D graphic formats such as USDZ and GLTF and much more.
